Air filter is clogged

Open the air filter cover and inspect the filter to check if it is visibly clogged.

Tip: The air filter must be regularly cleaned to remove dust and dirt in order to avoid carburetor malfunctions, starting problems, loss of engine power, unnecessary wear to engine parts, and excessive fuel consumption.

How to clean the air filter

Depending on the type of your product, the filter can be:

Foam filter and nylon filter

Remove the air filter cover and take out the air filter.
2.
Wash the air filter in warm, soapy water.
3.
Make sure that the air filter is dry before refitting it.

Oiling the air filter

If you are using your product in dusty conditions, the air filter must be soaked in oil.

⚠️CAUTION
Always use Husqvarna air filter oil or Husqvarna air filter oil spray.

If using the regular Husqvarna air filter oil, follow the procedure:

⚠️WARNING
Use protective gloves. The air filter oil can cause skin irritation.

Put the air filter in the plastic bag and pour the filter oil over it.
2.
Knead the plastic bag to distribute the oil.
3.
Squeeze the excess oil out of the filter inside the plastic bag and pour off the excess before fitting the filter to your trimmer.

Paper filter and felt filter

1.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the air filter.
2.
Clean the filter with a soft brush or compressed air.
If the filter is too dirty or damaged, replace it.
3.
Put a new air filter and reverse the actions.

⚠️CAUTION: Make sure to use the correct paper air filter for your product. You can find the specific model of the air filter in your product's operator's manual.
